John Cleese stirring controversy again

John Cleese is best known for his varying roles in the longtime Monty Python series on the BBC and for the related Monty Python movies such as “Life of Brian,” and “The Holy Grail.”

Background from Britannica:

LondonCleese began writing and performing in comedy revues at Clifton College in Bristol, England, and was a member of the renowned Footlights Club while a law student at the University of Cambridge. The 1963 Footlights revue, A Clump of Plinths, toured parts of the world as Cambridge Circus and landed Cleese a writing job for BBC radio.

In the 1960s Cleese worked as a writer and performer on David Frost’s television programs That Was the Week That Was (1963), The Frost Report (1966), and At Last the 1948 Show (1967). On these shows Cleese developed a comic style of looking absolutely normal—“like an accountant,” as one critic described him—while doing and saying the most absurd things. Cleese’s success on the Frost shows led to a small role in Interlude (1968), his first film appearance.

John Cleese is stoking the flames of white replacement.

The City of London voted nearly 60% for Remain supporting parties in the recent EU elections.  The population is now well over 50% non-white and expected to climb to 70% in the coming decade.

Paul Joseph Watson at Summit News reports:

Monty Python“Monty Python icon John Cleese has stoked controversy by reiterating his belief that London is no longer an English city due to mass immigration.

In a tweet to his 5.6 million followers, Cleese said, “Some years ago I opined that London was not really an English city any more. Since then, virtually all my friends from abroad have confirmed my observation So there must be some truth in it.”

“I note also that London was the UK city that voted most strongly to remain in the EU,” he added.”

Cleese was interviewed in 2011:

‘“I mean, I love having different cultures around. But when the parent culture kind of dissipates, you’re left thinking, “Well, what’s going on?” ‘ said Cleese.

race realismJohn Cleese criticised for saying London is no longer an English city

“The award-winning British comedian Dom Joly, 51, was quick to criticise Cleese’s tweet. He said: “John Cleese is one of my comedy heroes … Suddenly this thing came out of nowhere and it’s so depressing on so many levels.”

Joly added: “He’s clearly a really smart funny man but it is basically a very racist tweet.”

UPDATE!

Cleese on Race Realism

Cleese Tweeted out on race realism in June 2019:

I have been assured by some geneticists that the idea of ‘race’ is purely a ‘social construct’ that has no basis in reality Good news ! But I think they should inform the Institute of Race Relations, as this may make it harder for them to pursue cases of racial discrimination

Cleese continues to stir controversy even in the twilight of his life, now at 86. He recently canceled gigs in Israel after pressure from leftist activists.
